Vela App: Simplifying Water Sports Planning and Safety
As part of my UX Design course at CareerFoundry, I developed Vela, an app tailored for sailors, surfers, divers, and water sports enthusiasts. Vela provides real-time forecasts and detailed statistics on wind, wave, and weather conditions, empowering users to plan their next adventure with confidence and safety in mind.
The app features a clean, user-friendly interface that delivers a quick summary of the weather forecast for the coming days, along with essential maritime safety tips. Users can explore new spots based on their location or water sport of choice, ensuring they find the best conditions for their activity.
In addition to its practical tools, Vela fosters community by allowing users to connect and chat with fellow water sports lovers worldwide, creating a space for sharing experiences, advice, and passion for the ocean.
